Hi!


My name is Monique Carlson and I’m a private chef and recipe developer based in Los Angeles.  I grew up in New York City and from a very young age fell in love with its wildly diverse food scene.I got my start in the culinary world at Ladybird, an acclaimed vegan restaurant in the East Village. When the pandemic hit, I decided to move to Los Angeles to transition my career toward becoming a private chef. In the last 2 years I've cooked for a wide variety of private chef clients. I tailor my menus for each client and develop recipes to satisfy their individual palates and dietary sensitivities. I work primarily with my own clients, but I've connected with many through a private chef agency that I work for. "Pretty Healthy Foods" focuses on health-based cooking and food that heals. I work alongside a nutritionist to create meals that holistically cater to each client. In the last year, I took a brief hiatus from work and earned my degree in Plant-Based Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. This was a life-changing experience for me. I feel so lucky to have learned from some of the best chefs in the world and am excited to come back with these new skills in my repertoire.
